Michael W. Beres, FNP
Michael W. Beres, FNP-C received his BA in Anthropology from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1984. He worked as professional mountain guide in the western United States and Mexico for eight years before returning to UNC for a BS in Nursing in 1992. He received a full academic scholarship to Duke University where he received his MSN in Nursing in 1996. He is Board Certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center. Michael has ten years of experience as an FNP working in emergency medicine. He joined Tri-County Orthopedics in 2005.
Michael’s wife of ten years, Mary-Emma, is a family practice physician. They operate a small family practice clinic in Independence, Virginia. Dr. Beres is affiliated with Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta, North Carolina. They have two children, Aidan age 7 and Eirwyn age 6. They live in Sparta just off the Blue Ridge Parkway.
