Dexa Scan - Bone Density Evaluation for Osteoporosis
Dexa Scanning is an axial skeleton evaluation of bone density. This test is used in the evaluation of osteoporosis and related conditions. The test is painless and involves an axial skeletal survey performed with the patient lying on their back on a soft padded table. The scan evaluates the density of bone in the lower four lumbar vertebral bodies and in the hip bone. These values are graphed against the national data base and relative values are established for the quality of the bone structure. The test is read and interpreted by Dr. Whitman or Dr. Johnson. They then make very specific recommendations regarding a comprehensive program to maintain or restore good bone health. You may schedule this test by calling (336)-526-4500 or (336)-789-9041 and simply request an appointment for a Dexa Bone Density Evaluation.
